avra runs a 2-month program twice a year. Each week, we cover a different company-building topic, ranging from hiring and managing leaders, to accelerating shipping velocity, and improving strategic clarity of thought on how to be a public company some day.
50+ companies have participated so far. We admit ~10 companies per batch, keeping cohorts small so every session can be tailored to each founder.
Each session is taught by CEOs and operators from the world's best companies because we believe founders and operators are the best teachers. These experienced operators provide tactical advice founders can implement today, share inside stories, and discuss issues they faced while scaling their companies. We also share our perspectives based on our experience working with over 100 growth-stage companies in the last 10+ years
Post Series A startups with strong product market fit that are approaching 30-50 employees. The program is invite-only.
"The program was excellent. Primarily they invited some of the most exceptional CEOs who have faced similar challenges that we are going through now. The program is well-structured, filling in a lot of the blind spots we had over the next 24 month horizon."
"The program was so helpful for our stage. I loved learning from exceptional guests like Tony Xu, founder of Doordash. The sessions were not fireside chats you can find online. These founders shared the raw, vulnerable stories and lots of tactical advice on how to scale. I have learned a ton from it."
"Many programs targeted at founders waste their time. Avra proved to be the opposite. Learning how to not only build a great product but build a great company from leaders like Parker Conrad, and Greg Schott resulted in actionable ways to scale a higher performing company. And I continue to trade notes with peers from our cohort."
"The program was exceptional. The Jeff Lawson session prompted us to roll out OKRs company-wide, while the session on moving beyond founder-led sales led us to implement more robust sales pipeline metrics. The avra team also expanded our enterprise reach, connecting us with several major potential customers during and after the program."
"Early growth companies are in an awkward phase: you may have PMF, but still have a lot to figure out. [Avra’s] program hits all the biggest, hardest challenges we are dealing with, and gives us a chance to spend time with experts and peers who have gone through the same thing. It was super useful. My only feedback is that I wish the program went longer"
"Avra pulled together an incredible group of founders building great companies, with whom I was able to build lasting friendships during the program. Anu and team have a strong network of mentors who shared their experiences and war stories, which I often refer back to when thinking through how to tackle the challenges we face as a company."
"One of the hardest aspects of building a business is understanding what great looks like - leadership teams; CEO operating principles; cultural norms. The program assembled the strongest group of speakers you could imagine for understanding the paths to scaling a successful venture business."
The avra program was fantastic. Hearing real playbooks and war stories from founders who’ve built iconic companies gave me a ton of practical takeaways I could apply quickly. The benefits went far beyond the batch, some of those founders have since become investors, and the avra team has consistently gone the extra mile to support me and EvenUp.
It's a dream come true as a growth stage CEO. The program is packed with great insights and world-class speakers. It accelerates the learning process. And the avra team is fantastic. They care deeply about creating an A+ experience for founders and it shows. No fluff, all value. Highly recommend for scaling CEOs!
"Two of the most important things you need as a founder: 1) advice from founders who are at a stage ahead of you so they can tell you all the ways they screwed up so you don't make those same mistakes and 2) peers who are the same stage to lament with about all the ways you still screw up.
Avra has both of these things. Both sets of founders are some of the best in the world and the advice was on point. Concretely: the advice on exec hiring directly informed the process for an exec we were hiring at the time and I don't think we would have hired that person were it not for the program."
